Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Bookkeeper to join our team in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have strong bookkeeping and accounting skills, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. This role involves managing financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in the preparation of financial reports. Please note, this role is 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other accounts regularly.
  • Prepare invoices, track payments, and monitor cash flow.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
  • Generate financial reports and summaries as needed.
  • Provide administrative support related to bookkeeping tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred but not required.

Compensation:

  • Competitive hourly rate during the contract period.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, standard business hours.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a bookkeeping role
• Proven experience with account reconciliation
• Demonstrated skills in managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with bank reconciliations
• Proficiency in bookkeeping practices and principles
• Efficient data entry skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with month-end close procedures
• Knowledge of payroll processes
• Experience using QuickBooks software
