Qualifications:
Knowledge & Skills
• Must be able to use tools such as, but not limited to, voltmeters, amp meters, PC program interface to logic controllers, hand tools, welders, sheet metal equipment, calipers, and micrometers.
• Ability to use Outlook mail required.
• Must be able to work overtime during the week and on weekends, adjust schedule quickly and willing to be called in to meet operational demands to minimize downtime.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Associates, Trade School, High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum two years related industrial mechanical or industrial electrical experience OR completion of two-year applicable technical school and one year related industrial mechanical or industrial electrical experience.
Work Environment
• Must troubleshoot with mechanics and production specialists to determine course of correction/corrective action on quality defects and productivity losses.
• Work environment can range from clean room and proper gowning requirements to a production area that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
• Work in shop/maintenance area.
• Must be able to stand, reach, and work in tight spaces under or around equipment as required for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to stand, bend, kneel or squat for extended periods of time while working on equipment.
• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
Perform machine setup, equipment/product change overs, troubleshoot equipment performance problems and assist production specialists with machine adjustments. Work as liaison between manufacturing specialist and maintenance, create maintenance work orders, and complete production logbook “reviewed by” entries of maintenance activities (OP20). Constantly improve skill level in production maintenance to keep up with advances in technology and automation in the production processes.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Make repairs to production equipment utilizing the following skill sets: Controls, drawings, electrical, general mechanics, hand tools, hydraulics, machine shop, piping systems, PLC knowledge, pneumatics, RF, troubleshooting, welding, and programming.
• Support major PM’s activities on production equipment on an as needed basis and to support plant shutdown activities.
• Assist with equipment startups after extended downtimes or change overs.
• Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot production equipment/processes to facilitate repairs and minimize downtime.
• Perform daily equipment checks to ensure equipment is ready for production use.
• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to supervisors/manager, customers, and peers in a professional manner regarding equipment repairs or problems.
• Follow prescribed uniform and gowning requirements, while meeting hygiene standards. Responsible for complying with area personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Maintain a safe, orderly, clean work environment. Adhere to area safety and ergonomic requirements.
• Adhere to cGMP guidelines, SOP's and plant policies/rules.
• Utilize computer software-based programs for work order completion, research, training and e-mail communication.
• Maintain plant tools, calibrated instruments, and toolboxes in compliance with cGMP and SOP.
• Work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of employees.
• Evaluate rejects to determine corrective action.
• Troubleshoot with mechanics to determine defect in machine/equipment.
• Institute immediate corrective action to prevent defective product from being manufactured and to reduce potential high-dollar material losses.
• Communicate effectively with internal/ external customers to provide technical support necessary for the operation.
• Actively communicate throughout every day with production operators regarding equipment or process issues. Elevate those issue and work with the supervisor as necessary and as directed to correct them.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
