Job Overview: We are seeking dedicated and passionate Resource Special Education Teacherto join our team for the full school year, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with special needs. Join us in fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Use various teaching methods to promote student engagement and learning.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress and performance.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and progress.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • State certification in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Experience with IEP development and implementation.

SPED Certifications:

  • Connecticut Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
  • Specific endorsements may include Learning Disabilities (LD), Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitive Impairment (CI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and others as required.
  • pletion of all necessary continuing education requirements to maintain certification.
