Position Description

GTMR, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our family. In this role you will design and document mechanical drawings that will be used to manufacture units. The position will be located at our customer site at NAVSEA Dahlgren VA. In this position, you will work our customer’s Compressed Work Schedule which consists of working four 9hour days (M-Th) and an 8-hour day (F) for the first week of a cycle followed by four 9-hour days (M-Th) and being off on the second Friday for the second week of a cycle. This results in a 3-day weekend every other week

Position Responsibilities

  • Mechanical design and engineering including:
    1. The design, manufacture, and testing of mechanical assemblies.
    2. Experience with solid modeling, infinite element modeling techniques, mechanical and thermal stress analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and design project work to meet project objectives and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing SolidWorks/AutoCad or ProE for creating or documenting system designs. This includes experience developing technical data packages and documentation in accordance with DoD standards and instructions. Experience with solid modeling, infinite element modeling techniques, mechanical and thermal stress analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with users and other Special Mission Aircraft technicians and staff to resolve network issues.
  • Plan and implement upgrades and expansion projects. Create project plans and task flows for the project.
  • Work with military, government, and commercial technicians to resolve any mechanical design issues.
  • Work in a team environment, communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members.

Required Experience

  • 4+ Years of experience as Mechanical Engineer
  • US DoD Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance

Work shifts are variable and could include day/evening/night. Possible weekend work may be necessary depending on customer requirements and schedules.

Occasional travel will be required



Compensation details: 105000-125000 Yearly Salary
