High School Special Education Teacher

Are you passionate aboutproviding an inclusive and supportive learning environment for young students? ProCare Therapy is currently searching for a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join one of our trusted school districts situated in the charming community of Derby, Connecticut. As a Special Education Teacher in this role, you will work closely with students who have diverse learning needs, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role involves developing and implementing specialized instructional strategies to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will be an advocate for students with special needs, ensuring they receive the resources and support required to thrive in an inclusive setting.

Description

  • Full time
  • M-F
  • 34-35 hours per week
  • M,T,Th, F: 7:15am-1:55pm
  • W: 7:15am-2:55pm (staff meeting after school)
  • Resource teaching position working with 11th and 12th grade students
  • The candidate would be provided with mentoring from a veteran staff and they would be joining a staff of Highly dedicated special educators with a lot of support in the form of full-time school psychologist two full-time social workers three full-time school counselors and then related service providers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Education andthen a Master'sdegree in Special Education or Teaching Students with Special Needs
  • Active state License
  • Active state Certification
  • Experience working with students with multiple disabilities
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check

Interview Process

  • 10-15 minute screening call with a ProCare Recruiter
  • 30 mins-1 hrvirtual/in-person interview with school district
  • Offer is typically within 24 hours of virtual interview

As a ProCare employee, you will be paid on a weekly basis through direct deposit. Your hourly rate will be dependent upon your experience and education.
