Life Skills Paraprofessional

Location: Taylor, PA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs within the classroom and during individual activities.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans.
  • Support students in developing functional life skills, including social interactions, self-care, and daily living activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies as needed.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
  • Document and report on student progress, behavior, and other relevant observations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree or higher in Education, Special Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with children or adolescents, especially those with special needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the growth and development of students.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Basic proficiency in using educational technology and tools.
