Job DescriptionJob DescriptionLegal Secretary: Freeport, IL We are seeking a Legal Secretary for a full-time 1st shift position in Freeport, IL. As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for supporting attorneys with administrative tasks, document preparation, and client communication. Responsibilities of the Legal Secretary:- Draft, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Manage and organize files, both physical and digital
- Schedule meetings, hearings, and appointments for attorneys
- Answer phone calls and communicate with clients professionally
- File legal documents with courts and other government agencies
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with legal standards
- Perform general administrative duties, such as data entry and handling mail
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures (preferred but not required)
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a Legal Secretary is a plus
- Ability to take dictation a plus
