Currently recruiting a Logistics Import/Export Coordinator for our Container Division, which will provide logistic planning to customers and carriers regarding import and export shipments.
The main goal is to maintain existing business and seeking out new opportunities for growth for our business.
Duties and Responsibilities Include but not limited:
Negotiate transportation rates with customers and carriers.
Manage shipment volumes for customers and maintain timely pickup and delivery.
Communicates with customers and carriers by phone and emails in a timely and professional manner.
Seeking out new business opportunities
Solve complex transportation problems with professionalism and perseverance.
Tracks and traces shipments from pickup through delivery to ensure accurate and up-to-date shipment information is being provided to customers.
Utilizes various transportation software systems to facilitate movement, planning, and scheduling.
Coordinate import and export loads for pickup and delivery.
Enter information into logistic software and update order status.
Focusing on building carrier relationships to match customer lanes with available capacity.
Add new carriers into our software.
KEYS TO SUCCESS: The required qualifications for this position include:
Computer Skills: Must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, word, and Outlook, along with the ability to adapt and learn new software as needed.
Team oriented.
Attention to detail, accuracy and excellent follow up skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication/negotiation skills.
Excellent math, problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adaptability to changes.
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to effectively multi-task is a MUST --> This position involves busy phones/emails with simultaneous computer work throughout the day and requires somebody who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Proactive, self-motivated, and enthusiastic
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate shall possess a good character, the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, good telephone skills, high energy, and capable of managing multiple accounts. Good reasoning and logic, port related experience, negotiation skills, computer skills, discipline, ability to be a self-starter, ability to multi-task. Will generally have one to four years of experience and be capable of completing all tasks with sufficient experience and skill to handle all but the most complex or significant assignments.
It is important that the candidate for this job understands that it is the companys desire for individual development and to foster an environment of personal growth of individuals without direct supervision responsibilities.
