Special Education Teacher - Columbia, NC
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in Columbia, NC. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students with special needs and help them achieve their full potential. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs and abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students varying needs and interests.
  • Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive and effective learning environment.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with children with special needs.
