Hours per Week: 25-30
Caseload: ~20-25 students
Age Group: K-6
Contract: 2024-2025 School Year

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure the academic and social success of each student.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust IEPs as needed.
  • Provide direct instruction in various settings, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student goals and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred).
  • Valid North Carolina teaching license in Special Education (K-6).
  • Experience working with K-6 students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to create and implement effective teaching strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Passion for helping students reach their full potential.
