Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education or related field
  • Valid Kansas teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (preferred but not required)
  • Strong munication and collaboration skills

Position Overview:
Soliant Education is seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a supportive school district in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will work with students of various grade levels, providing tailored instruction and support to help them thrive academically and socially. This is a full-time position for the current school year, with potential for renewal.

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing based on individual needs
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the special education team
  • Use a variety of munication methods, including ASL, oral munication, and written materials
  • Support students language and literacy development
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success
  • Provide acmodations and modifications to support access to the general education curriculum
  • Advocate for students to ensure an inclusive learning environment
