AP Specialist

LHH is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented AP Specialist (Construction) for a job in El Cajon, CA. This role will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. This is a fully in-office position and has an anticipated compensation between $24-32/hr.
Responsibilities:
· Process accounts payable transactions, including vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.
· Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and ensure timely payments.
· Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure accuracy.
· Assist in the preparation of financial reports related to accounts payable.
· Work closely with other departments to ensure timely processing of project-related expenses.
· Handle inquiries from vendors and internal teams regarding payments and billing discrepancies.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant sales tax regulations.
· Assist with sales tax reporting as needed (experience with sales tax is a plus).
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in accounts payable and construction industry experience a must.
· Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) is a plus.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
· High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
· Sales tax knowledge is a bonus, but not required.
