Job DescriptionJob Description About the Staff Hydraulic Engineer Position 
As a Staff Hydraulic Engineer, you will perform various Engineering design and technical analysis activities.  This position requires knowledge in the practical application of Hydraulic Engineering analysis/design and experience with engineering standards, material specifications, pipeline equipment, system operations, regulatory requirements, procedures and safe work practices.  The Staff Hydraulic Engineer receives work assignments from the Engineering, Operations, Asset Integrity and Business Development, and primarily works with minimal oversight or guidance to complete assigned tasks.
What You Get to Do:
Identify, evaluate, and implement modern modeling approaches relevant to pipeline simulations, including data analytics, and automation.
Act as a technical liaison between departments and facilitate collaboration between engineering, operations, maintenance, and regulatory compliance teams.
Ability to analyze existing systems to identify strengths, weaknesses, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement for system optimization.
Recognize and address the health and safety hazards involved with the performance of assigned duties within different environments throughout the pipeline system.
Utilize operating philosophies, design parameters, engineering standards, workflow processes, and recommended practices for design and analysis.
Performing assigned technical analysis/design work on an independent basis.
What You Bring to the Table:
An Engineering degree from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Advanced knowledge of fluid mechanics, fluid properties, thermodynamics and pipeline modeling & simulations.
Expertise at industry transient simulation software such as Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) or AFT Impulse, preferably SPS.
Expertise in DRA modeling, thermal analysis, and the ability to implement these modeling techniques for pipeline design and optimization.
Proficient at C++ programming language, to be able to maintain inhouse legacy software.
Ability to write scripts for automation, develop models and software tools beneficial to the hydraulic engineering team.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
4+ years of hydraulic modeling experience with refined petroleum products pipeline and 5+ years of hydraulic modeling experience in the oil and gas industry.
