Job Description:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Paraprofessional to join our team for the 2024/2025 fiscal year. As a School Paraprofessional, you will provide support to special education teachers and students with diverse learning needs. This role requires collaboration with educational staff to foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist special education teachers in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Provide support to students in various settings, including inclusive classrooms, resource rooms, and specialized programs.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and assist with student progress through data collection and observation.
  • Provide individual and group support to students to address academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and professional development activities.
  • Assist in conducting assessments to determine students' strengths, needs, and eligibility for special education services.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, interventions, and services provided.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines related to special education.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Experience working with children or individuals with special needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and team members.
  • Proficiency in data collection and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work independently.
  • Commitment to maintaining professional development and staying current with industry trends.
