Job Description:
As a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology, you will play a crucial role in supporting the academic and emotional well-being of our students. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to identify and address psychological, behavioral, and academic needs. Your expertise will be vital in developing and implementing intervention strategies and ensuring that our students receive the appropriate support and resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to evaluate students cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on assessment results.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to address students needs and provide support.
- Provide counseling and therapeutic services to students experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties.
- Offer consultation and training to staff on effective strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school-wide initiatives and programs.
- Stay current with best practices and developments in school psychology and special education.
Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current license as a Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) in Texas
- Proven experience in conducting psychological assessments and providing intervention services in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations, as well as evidence-based practices in school psychology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with diverse student populations and/or bilingual skills.
- Additional certifications or training in areas such as trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, or behavioral therapy.
