Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Location: Covington, Georgia

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Covington, Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong mitment to providing exceptional educational services to students with diverse learning needs. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education teachers and parents, and ensuring students receive the support necessary to achieve their academic and social goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Assess students' skills to determine their needs and develop appropriate teaching plans.
  • Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to acmodate students with disabilities.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques and strategies to support student learning and development.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to create an inclusive educational environment.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress, assessments, and IEPs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • prehensive understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent munication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities and learning needs is preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with different types of disabilities and special education programs.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective teaching strategies to support diverse learners.
