We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cost Accountant to join our finance department. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for performing cost analyses and preparing budget reports. You should possess excellent analytical skills along with the ability to combine different data and calculate profit margins. Our ideal candidate should also be able to create detailed reports that present cost-effective solutions for our company.


Responsibilities:

  • Collect and organize cost information into a database of expenses.
  • Construct data accumulation systems.
  • Determine fixed costs (e.g. salaries, rent and insurance).
  • Plan and record variable costs (e.g. purchases of raw material and operations costs).
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
  • Prepare budgeting reports for the company and report variances.
  • Prepare (monthly, quarterly and annual) cost forecasts.
  • Assessing the financial implications of new or existing ventures.
  • Conducting inventory reserve analysis on a regular basis and documenting it accurately.
  • Investigating cycle counting programs and making appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • Assisting in audits and general ledger preparation.

• Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting is a prerequisite for this role.

• Comprehensive understanding of the Annual Inventory process is essential.

• Proven experience in a similar role is highly desirable.

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills are crucial.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Must have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.

• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Must have a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.

• Ability to interpret, analyze, and report financial data.

• Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry and handling sensitive data.
