Injection Molding Technician

The Mold Technician is responsible for preparing molding machines and robots for startup, performing basic startups, troubleshooting, and handling materials.
Duties:
- Set up thermoplastic machines according to procedures and initiate the press using the master process.
- Operate molding machines as required.
- Set up and start robots using existing programs, with the ability to modify programs for safe and efficient part handling.
- Set up hot/cold runner systems, load programs, and make adjustments as needed.
- Serve as a backup for material handler, mold cleaner, or other assigned roles.
- Perform screw and barrel cleaning as necessary.
- Set up process monitoring equipment and load programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Follow all procedures relevant to the set-up position.
- Perform resin changes, including replacing pails and drums on dosing pumps.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in thermoplastic machine setup.
- Knowledge of material handling systems.
- Familiarity with molds and the ability to clean them for production runs.
- Mechanically inclined, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to frequent changes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must meet the qualifications and requirements of Mold Technician Level 1.
Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly to move objects.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, and perform other physical activities.
- Prolonged periods of sitting while performing repetitive motions, including significant movements of the wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Close visual acuity required for tasks such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer screen, inspecting small parts, and operating machinery.
- Visual acuity required for operating machinery, performing mechanical tasks, or skilled trades tasks that are non-repetitive in nature.
Shifts: M-F 6am-2:30 OR M-F 2PM-10PM
