Virtual Indiana Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Opening - Interviewing Now

Pay: $35-42/hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacherfor a remote position. This role involves providing direct educational support to students with hearing impairments in K-12 settings, ensuring their academic and social success. Minimum requirements for consideration include a Master's degree in Special Education or related fields, Indiana Exceptional Needs Teaching Certification, and 2 years of teaching experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address students' specific needs and goals.
- Provide instructional support in various subject areas, adapting materials and methods to acmodate students' hearing impairments.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' overall educational experience.
- Assess students progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure effective learning.
- Utilize teletherapy platforms effectively to deliver instruction and engage with students.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP documentation, and other relevant data.
- Participate in professional development and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in deaf education.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree or higher in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Valid Indiana K-12 Special Education certification with Exceptional Needs content area.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 educational setting (virtual preferred).
- Strong knowledge of K-12 educational processes and special education practices.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home office environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
