Position: Special Education Teacher

Location: St. George, NY

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-Time, Monday - Friday
  • Hours: 37.5 - 40 hours per week
  • School Year: 2024/2025

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our teamfor the 2024/2025 school year. This role involves working closely with students to support their unique learning needs by developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). As a valued team member, you will collaborate with school staff and families to create a supportive, inclusive environment that fosters growth and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique needs
  • Adapt and modify general education curriculum to support students individual learning styles
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students strengths and needs, documenting progress and adjusting goals as needed
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to provide comprehensive, inclusive support
  • Foster a supportive, respectful, and structured classroom environment that encourages student growth and learning

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York Special Education Teaching Credential
  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Special Education
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and colleagues
