Job Description

Patient rooms and must be comfortable in this environment. Cleaning duties include cleaning public restrooms, wash sinks, and counters, managing garbage, refilling supplies, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping linens from beds and pushing them to the laundry chute, and making beds. You may also be required to perform other tasks as needed. When cleaning patient-occupied rooms, you will follow a conversation script to introduce yourself, inform the patient you will be cleaning their room, and ask if they need anything additional. If the patient needs something, you will convey this to the nurse or doctor. Additionally, you will leave a card with your name and the phone number for the EVS department with the patient.

Responsibilities
  • Clean public restrooms, wash sinks, and counters.
  • Manage garbage and refill supplies.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
  • Strip linens from beds and push them to the laundry chute.
  • Make beds and perform other assigned tasks.
  • Follow a conversation script when cleaning patient-occupied rooms.
  • Convey patient needs to nurses or doctors.
  • Leave a card with your name and the EVS department phone number with the patient.

Work Environment

You will work throughout the hospital, including in and around empty rooms. The environment is fast-paced and can be stressful, involving various departments such as doctor's offices, patient rooms, post-partum, emergency, behavioral health, dialysis, orthopedics, and critical care. You must be comfortable being around sick patients, including those with infections or diseases. The role involves a lot of walking, averaging up to 7 miles a day, and is very physical.

This is a Contract position based out of Hood River, Oregon.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00
