Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator to join our team on the production floor. You will be responsible for overseeing the operation of milling machines, ensuring efficient paint production, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires physical activity, attention to detail, and teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate milling machines to ensure the flow of paint is not jammed.
  • Scrape paint from the mill into drums to prevent backups.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift to move drums to the staging area.
  • Prepare the next drum and manage the cycle of scraping, discarding, and moving drums.
  • Repack filled containers into smaller sizes as per customer requests.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, sweeping, and mopping during slow periods.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required.
  • Process batches of ink at proper mill settings as directed by the Supervisor and Quality Control.
  • Follow all quality requirements and testing procedures.
  • Ensure proper packaging and labeling of products.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the mill, work area, and perform required preventive maintenance tasks.

Work Environment

The production floor is clean and organized, though it can be hot due to the ink manufacturing and tub washing machines. The schedule is Monday to Friday with three shifts available: 1st Shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm), 2nd Shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm), and 3rd Shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am). All candidates must wear color-coded vests and steel toe shoes, and PPE such as safety glasses are provided. The facility is updating its locker rooms, break rooms, and overall appearance to provide a better working environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WEST CHICAGO, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00
