What Were Looking For:

  • School-based experiencepreferred
  • Bachelors degree
  • Special Education TeachingCertification in state of IL
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting the educational development of students with special needs.

Position Highlights:

  • Full-Time role with a Monday-Friday schedule

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with disabilities.
  • Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and resources.
  • Provide training and support to paraprofessionals and staff working with special needs students.
  • Monitor and manage classroom behavior and implement positive behavior intervention strategies.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in special education.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding special education services.
