Qualifications:
- 1 year hospital authorization verification required
- Working knowledge of payer portals
- Outpatient experience a plus
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 required
- Minimum education of High School/GED
A Day In the Role:
- Verify hospital outpatient visit authorizations.
- Research patient insurance benefits accurately
- Support daily communications between physician offices and hospital sites.
Functions:
- Ensure that medical procedures and services are approved by insurance companies before they are performed.
- Check patients' insurance plans to confirm coverage for specific medical procedures or services.
- Obtain necessary pre-certifications or authorizations from insurance companies before patients undergo certain medical procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to gather required clinical documentation and ensure all necessary information is provided for insurance approval.
- Manage referrals for procedures and follow up with insurance companies to secure authorizations.
- Communicate with patients to inform them about the status of their pre-certification requests and any additional information needed.
Work environment:
- Onsite
- Hours 37.50 weekly / 7.50 daily
- Shift: 3PM-11PM
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00
