Job DescriptionJob Description

Ledgent is recruiting a Senior Accountant to join one of our clients in Downtown Portland. This role will work hand in hand with leadership to clean up and improve their current accounting systems. This temporary role will focus on reviewing and updating accounting procedures, ensuring proper documentation and compliance, and implementing best practices that will enhance overall efficiency and accuracy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and document current accounting processes, identifying inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement
  • Clean up and organize financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures for accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Make recommendations for improvements to the accounting software/tools currently used and identify any additional resources that may streamline accounting operations
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment of financial systems and accurate tracking of funding and expenses

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of full cycle accounting experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
