Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Reading, Michigan

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide prehensive speech and language services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of speech and language disorders. This position involves working closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to support student munication needs and enhance their educational experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student learning and development.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student evaluations, treatment plans, and progress reports.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and state and federal regulations related to speech-language pathology.
  • Conduct screenings to identify students who may benefit from speech-language services.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist license.
  • Certificate of Clinical petence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Michigan Department of Education (MDE) approval as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal, munication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:
  • Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License: Must hold a current license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Michigan.
  • Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC-SLP): Must have current certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Michigan Department of Education Approval: Must have or be eligible for MDE approval as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school setting.
  • Background Check: Successful pletion of a background check and fingerprinting.
