We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team on a part-time basis in the Brooklyn, NY area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students of various ages and needs, helping them develop the skills they need to succeed in school and daily life.

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work directly with students in the school setting to assess and address challenges related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and other aspects of occupational performance. As a part-time OT, you will collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, supporting students in overcoming barriers to academic and social success.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments of students fine motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills to identify barriers to academic and social success.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, including both individual and small group sessions.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into students' educational programs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on how to implement strategies to promote student independence and success in the classroom.
  • Assist in the development of sensory-friendly spaces and adaptations in the classroom to support students learning needs.
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans for students.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current New York State licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Experience working with children in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of school-based occupational therapy practices, including assessments and interventions.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for helping students achieve their full potential and succeed in an academic environment.
