Responsibilities:- Assemble products for the client’s skin and prep the massage table before they arrive
- Suggest other available products and services that can help meet the client’s needs
- Maintain treatment records, monitor client progress, and follow up on their treatment plans
- Assess and advise on each client’s unique needs, taking into consideration their level of stress, physical condition, and medical history, and offer recommendations for types of massage and treatment
- Cultivate a welcoming work environment by making positive relationships with clients and staff
- Perform various massage techniques to provide relaxation and pain relief for clients
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for clients
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences for each session
- Recommend and sell appropriate spa products to enhance clients' relaxation experiences
- Uphold high standards of customer service to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty
- Proficiency in therapeutic massage techniques such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, and reflexology
- Licensure must comply with state and local laws and regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have worked as a massage therapist in a professional setting for at least one year
- The role requires a current NYS license with prior customer service and/or hotel experience preferred
- Physical requirements include the ability to work long hours, mostly on your feet. Medium work -- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, ability to multi-task
- Must possess the ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body and arms, moving quickly and agilely if a situation arises requiring quick assistance
- Will work under variable temperatures and noise levels (although treatment rooms are mostly quiet and relaxing with soft music playing)
- Near Vision - the ability to see details at close range
- Must be able to convey and understand information and ideas in English
