Job Details:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student success
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
  • Create lesson plans according to relevant local and state curriculum standards
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Provide behavioral support as needed, significant paraprofessional support will be present within the classroom
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field
  • Valid Washington Special Education License required, must be able to teach grades K-5
  • Must have fingerprint clearance from the WA OSPI
  • Experience with students who have learning and/or behavioral challenges preferred
  • Experience with the Sequoia Program preferred
  • Must be proficient in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) writing and lesson planning
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Commitment to meeting the unique needs of students with disabilities
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance oftheGig Harbor, WA area, or be willing to relocate before starting work
