Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, maintaining adherence to quality, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Participate in menu development, including creative input for new dishes that align with the restaurant's concept.
  • Lead kitchen staff during service by managing workflow, mentoring team members, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Monitor food inventory and orders to ensure cost-effective kitchen management without compromising quality.
  • Maintain control of food production, including plating, portioning, and ensuring consistency in every dish served.
  • Manage and uphold rigorous standards of kitchen cleanliness and compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Step in as acting Executive Chef when needed, including supervising staff schedules, resolving issues, and supporting overall operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar leadership role in a full-service, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary principles, food safety protocols, and kitchen management systems.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team while fostering collaboration and a positive work environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, especially under pressure.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional cuisine, with a keen eye for detail and innovation.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent education is preferred but not required when complemented by extensive practical experience.
