SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER for High School
Position: Special Education Teacher
Location:Cambridge, MD
Duration:2024/2025 school year, full time position
Caseload:High School, 10-15 students,Classroom settingmajority of the time in the general education setting, minimal pull out; further specifics will be discussed during interview;

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Customize instruction to effectively address a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize diverse teaching methods and innovative technologies to actively engage students.
- Monitor student progress closely and adapt teaching strategies as necessary.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, counselors, and specialists.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with parents/guardians regarding student achievements and objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Possession of a valid Maryland Special Education Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
- Proven experience working with students who have diverse learning needs.
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to individual student requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
- Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques and positive behavior supports.
- Ability to excel within a collaborative team environment.
