Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities:
- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of CNC machining equipment, including CNC Lathes, Mills, Multi-Axis, and Swiss machines.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC codes to determine machining requirements and specifications.
- Perform regular machine inspections, make tool changes and adjustments, and replace tools as needed to maintain production efficiency and quality.
- Calculate and adjust feeds, speeds, and cutting parameters to maintain specified tolerances.
- Perform first-piece inspections, monitor production runs, and make necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Utilize measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify the accuracy of machined parts.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production processes, including setup sheets, tool changes, and quality checks.
- Complete Statistical Process Control (SPC) as required to ensure consistency and accuracy in production.
- Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels, ensuring that materials are available as needed for production runs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Report any issues with machines, materials, or processes to the lead or supervisor for immediate resolution.
- Collaborate with other team members to identify process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues related to CNC machines and tooling.
- Assist in the training and development of junior machinists and apprentices as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or CNC machining training preferred.
- 2+ years of experience operating CNC machines (Lathes, Mills, Swiss, or Multi-Axis).
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and CNC code (G-code, M-code).
- Strong understanding of machining principles, cutting tool selection, and material properties.
- Experience with precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and other quality control methods.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, metal shavings, and machinery.
- Must adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Shifts Available - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Weekends
Pay - $25-38/hour Depending on Experience
