What You'll Be Doing:

Safety Leadership: Conduct and continuously assess organization-wide EHS preparedness and compliance, identifying gaps and overseeing remediation plans.
Training & Development: Ensure that all employees receive the necessary safety training and certifications to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
Policy Implementation: Plan and implement safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal OSHA regulations.
Program Management: Develop, implement, and update required safety and health programs, including:
Hazard Communication Program
Exposure Control Program (Bloodborne Pathogens, TB)
Hazard Assessment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Program
Respiratory Protection Program
Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
Emergency Action Plan
Compliance Documentation: Oversee and manage all compliance documentation related to safety and health programs.
Inspection & Auditing: Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety procedures and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with all levels of employees to promote a culture of safety and enforce procedures effectively.
What We’re Looking For:

Industry Experience: 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably within the steel industry or heavy manufacturing.
Safety Expertise: Deep understanding of EHS regulations and standards with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective safety procedures.
Training Skills: Experience in developing and delivering training programs that enhance safety awareness and compliance.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence employees at all levels.
Technical Proficiency: Basic Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Certifications: Relevant EHS certifications are required.
Required Skills:

Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of current EHS regulations and standards.
Analytical Skills: Ability to critically assess operations and identify potential safety issues.
Organizational Abilities: Strong time and resource management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Independence: Capable of working independently to plan, create, and implement safety programs and procedures.
