Sr. Accountant

Responsibilities:
• Managing and analyzing plant costs, including production, inventory, and labor costs.
• Assisting with budget preparation and preparing monthly budget variance analyses.
• Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances.
• Preparing financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assessing and implementing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas.
• Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules.
• Preparing plant-specific financial reports and performance metrics to support plant management.
• Collaborating with plant management to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Overseeing inventory accounting and cost allocation related to plant operations.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations; collaborating with auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
• Preparing tax filings and ensuring timely submission.
• Supervising and mentoring accounting staff.
• Assisting with custom solution sales and handling complex projects as needed.
• Implementing and monitoring internal controls specific to plant operations and cost management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of four years of accounting experience, with experience in a manufacturing or plant environment preferred.
- CPA is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems such as Sage, SAP, or QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of accounting functions, cost accounting, tax accounting, and auditing. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- High degree of accuracy in work and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with spreadsheets and advanced Excel functions. Strong background in tax accounting and auditing. Experience in preparing quarterly financial reports.
