Job Title: Restaurant Bookkeeper
Location: Holmdel, NJ

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Bookkeeper to manage and oversee all financial activities for our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in restaurant accounting and be skilled in maintaining financial records, handling accounts payable/receivable, and preparing accurate financial reports. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Record daily sales, reconcile cash drawers, and manage bank deposits.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts and credit card statements.
• Oversee payroll processing and tip distribution in compliance with restaurant industry standards.
• Track and manage inventory costs, working closely with the purchasing team to optimize inventory levels.
• Maintain accurate records of expenses and income for tax preparation and audits.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support financial planning and operational decisions.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and restaurant-specific accounting standards.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper in the restaurant industry is required.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Restaurant365) and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Strong knowledge of financial and payroll regulations specific to the restaurant sector.
• Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and generate clear, actionable insights.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information discreetly.
