Part -Time Audiologist needed in Salisbury, NC

Job Summary:

The School Audiologist will play a pivotal role in ensuring that students with hearing impairments receive the support they need to succeed academically and socially. This individual will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals to assess, diagnose, and manage hearing-related issues within the school setting. Our ideal candidate is passionate about educational audiology and is committed to creating a positive and empowering experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Conduct hearing assessments and evaluations for students to identify hearing impairments and related needs. Utilize advanced audiological equipment and techniques to provide accurate diagnoses.

  • Intervention & Support: Develop and implement individualized plans to address hearing issues. Provide recommendations for hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and classroom accommodations.

  • Consultation & Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, school counselors, and parents to create and implement strategies that support students' hearing needs. Offer professional development and training to school staff on hearing health and communication strategies.

  • Monitoring & Follow-Up: Track students progress and make necessary adjustments to intervention plans. Schedule regular follow-up appointments and maintain detailed records of assessments and interventions.

  • Advocacy & Education: Advocate for students' needs within the school environment and educate the school community about hearing health and accessibility.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters or Doctoral degree in Audiology (AuD) from an accredited institution.

  • Certification: Valid state license in Audiology and Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience working with children in a school or educational setting is preferred but not required . Demonstrated expertise in managing diverse hearing needs and providing tailored support.

Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in using audiological equipment and technology.
