Job Title: Full-Time Special Education Teacher
Location: Harvey, IL

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Special Education Teacher to join our school community in Harvey, IL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering tailored educational programs to students with diverse learning needs. This role involves creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with staff and parents, and fostering a supportive classroom environment that promotes the academic and social growth of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Provide differentiated instruction in various subjects to students with disabilities.
  • Adapt and modify the general education curriculum to ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, making adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians about student progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related meetings.
  • Keep accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Illinois state certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities, including learning disabilities, autism, and emotional/behavioral disorders.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
