Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC or Manual Lathe Machinist to oversee the manual operations of a lathe, running up to 30 different parts in a day. The role involves machining large industrial equipment with a focus on quality over high volume. Responsibilities include operating various machining tools, performing quality inspections, and working with overhead cranes and hoists.

Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC and manual lathe machines.
  • Handle up to 30 different parts daily.
  • Perform drilling, cutting, tapping, and threading operations.
  • Utilize blueprints for machining tasks.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure tight tolerances.
  • Operate overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Work with Mills and various other machining principles.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with manual lathe operations.
  • Proficiency in drilling, cutting, tapping, and threading.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and other quality measurement devices.
  • Experience with CNC Mills/Lathes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with CNC programming is a plus.
  • Comfort with TIG welding is a huge plus but not required.
  • Crane and hoist operation experience.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled, but well-kept shop. Choose between first or second shifts, with the latter offering a shift differential. Overtime is voluntary first, then mandated, with 1.5x pay for over 8 hours and Saturdays, and 2x pay for Sundays.
