Job DescriptionJob Description

KCI is one of the largest Telecommunication Vendors in DMV and has a large present across the East Coast. They provide full turnkey solutions for both wireless and wireline sectors. Their wireless sectors are split up into a few groups, but ultimately support the major carriers (TMO, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Dish Network, and Crown Castle).

The majority of this project will be supporting Verizon wireless across their SNAP (Nokia to Ericsson swaps), CBand, and New Site Build initiatives. This technician will be supporting the pre-integration piece of the deployment at various cell sites across MD and DC. They will perform decommissioning of old equipment (Light), re-racking, installation of new BBU, battery power, test, (sometimes, and overall stage site for the integration team to come in. They will need solid communication skills as will be interacting with various clients to gain access to sites.

Duties:
Perform installation, testing/troubleshooting, and decommissioning of existing and new fiber optic cable to the site, ODTR, PIM, Sweep, Anritsu testing is a plus. Understanding how to trouble shoot climate and cabinet issues.
-Test and Troubleshoot LTE alarms, power issues, over heating, RSSI, VSWR and PIM
-Must have experience with in lacing cables, crimping techniques and wireless experience.
-Swap out former equipment at cell sites (ALU, Nokia, Samsung, Ericsson)
-Perform basic test & turn-up of the equipment after install complete
-Perform basic DC power and battery swaps
-Ensure projects are delivered on time with safety and quality customer experience.

Work Environment

This will work will vary in location across MD and DC, but mainly around the Baltimore market.
Shift can vary but typically 6-2 or 7-3. Can meet at Office location and ride with lead, typically 2 per site. If driving own vehicle will get mileage reimbursement or car allowance/Drive time.

Top Skills' Details

1. 3-5 + Years of experience performing Cabinet/Shelter Telecommunication Prep Work (IHUT or Central Office is acceptable as well).
2. Experience in installation not limited to Fiber, BBU's, coax, and other router gear.
3. DC power knowledge or experience with telecommunications battery swaps.
