Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Allegan, Michigan. The primary function of this role is to manage various accounting tasks, such as maintaining documentation for all transactions, balances, and journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and creating and maintaining spreadsheets and pivot tables. You will be working in a fast-paced environment within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Process and maintain documentation for all transactions, balances, and journal entries
• Handle Accounts Payable tasks and Monthly credit card reconciliation
• Monitor and maintain inventory control
• Contribute to the completion of annual budgets and forecasts
• Assist in the completion of month end and quarter end close
• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide suitable solutions as required
• Develop and present monthly financial statements to management
• Maintain monthly and quarterly Sale Tax state returns
• Leverage technology, specifically SAP and QuickBooks, to effectively complete tasks• Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Skilled in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with General Ledger operations
• Experience with Journal Entries
• Knowledge of Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and SAP software
• Prior experience with Fixed Asset Accounting
• Familiarity with Job Cost procedures
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
• High level of integrity and trustworthiness
