We’re currently hiring in Southampton, Pennsylvania to support a district in need of a Paraprofessional for the current school year.The Special Education Teacher Assistant will assist the classroom teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning classroom environment in which students may take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources.
- $18-$22 an hour*
- Participate in the instructional program under the direction of a certified teacher
- Work with groups of children based on grade level
- Work with children in learning centers and assist in the preparation and care of learning materials
- Assist in preparing classroom displays and bulletin boards
- Communicates relevant information regarding student’s behavior with parents
- Assist students with feeding, diapering, or toileting and charts time
- Care for classroom equipment and materials and may operate audio-visual equipment
- Assist with lunch, snack, and clean-up routine and assist children with clothing management based on grade level
- Participate in In-service training programs as required
- Assist certified teacher with classroom activities as directed
- Prepare training aids for the classroom as required
- Work with children with special needs

Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma
- Must have experience working with children
- Proficient in the use of standard computer applications
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with existing staff
Preferred Qualifications: - 2-3 years of experience working with children
