We are seeking a Mental Health Professional to join our Assertive Community Treatment team in Allentown. The Mental Health Specialist, as part of the ACT multidisciplinary team, has the responsibility to support the rehabilitation and treatment of adults living in the community. Provides service coordination (case management) for assigned groups of clients, including coordinating and monitoring the activities of the individual treatment team; Provides direct clinical services. Coordinates with outside inpatient services to detoxify clients and establish linkage to outpatient treatment self-help programs, outpatient services, and residential facilities. Conducts comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history.

Other Responsibilities but not all-inclusive

. Provide direct clinical services, including individual supportive counseling and psychoeducation to individuals individually, in groups, and with family.
.Conduct a comprehensive assessment of psychiatric history, mental status, diagnosis, physical and dental health, use of drugs or alcohol, education and
employment, social development and functioning; and activities of daily living (e.g., living situation, nutrition, money management)

Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or Education and 2-3 years of mental health,
forensic field, or direct care experience or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of mental health direct care experience.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a focused team.
· Skills and competence to establish supportive trusting relationships with persons with severe and persistent
mental illness and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential.
· Adhere to Trauma Informed Care & Assertive Engagement principles.
· Knowledge of mental health systems and supports.
· Good communication skills, both oral and written.
· Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Scope:
· Frequent talking and listening.
· Flexibility in scheduling and availability to do 24-hour on-call coverage.
· Requires the ability to lift, carry, hold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention
with individuals.
· Local travel required, including transporting program individuals.
· May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
· Must be able to assist in the evacuation of clients during emergencies.
