Job Description

Oversee prescription dispensing personnel and operations during shifts. Ensure proper technique, accurate preparation, and compliance with applicable laws for all pharmaceutical products dispensed during shifts. Perform final verification for non-sterile and sterile prescriptions, including proper packaging, assignment of beyond use dates, final inspection of finished products, and proper directions for use. Train, coach, and counsel technicians performing non-sterile compounding. Participate in shipping and handling of all prescription orders as needed. Work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills
  • 1-2 years of Pharmacist experience, ideally from a retail or hospital setting.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Order verification
  • Prior authorization
  • Pharmacy operations
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, The Compounder (PK software product), internet
  • QS-1 knowledge preferred but not required
Work Environment

Working within a closed-door specialty pharmacy. Temperature-controlled environment. Shift hours are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. Opportunity to get into a specialty pharmacy environment and out of a retail setting. The pharmacy is currently undergoing an expansion project with a new location opening across the street, offering opportunities for early involvement and internal growth.
