Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. This role requires a balanced skill set with a focus on both mechanical and electrical tasks, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with another technician on the first shift. Daily tasks will be guided by a preventative maintenance schedule and project list.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair plant equipment for safe and efficient operation.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and implement Lock-out-Tag-out procedures.
  • Possess working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits ranging from 110v to 480v.
  • Troubleshoot relay logic, motor controls, and AC/DC principles.
  • Read and interpret electrical prints and schematics.
  • Open electrical cabinets and trace relays.
  • Work on VFDs on pumps and troubleshoot failure codes.
  • Troubleshoot conveyor and oven systems.
  • Use basic hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
  • Perform mechanical and electrical preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Repair items such as steel/PVC piping, hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, and chains.
  • Safely operate a forklift and a man-lift.
  • Document preventive maintenance activities.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • GED/high school diploma.
  • Basic tools with tool bag (wrenches, hammer, screwdrivers, and sockets).
  • Lock-out-Tag-out experience.
  • Experience with 480v electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics.
  • Experience with VFDs and relay logic.
  • Experience with pneumatics, pumps, and motors.
  • Experience using hand and power tools.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Certification or associate degree in a related field.

This is a direct placement opportunity offering 10 paid holidays, 1 week of vacation after 6 months, and 2 weeks after 1 year. Employees are eligible for 70% paid benefits and 401k match starting from day one. Additionally, the company provides $20,000 towards life insurance.

Work Environment

This is a non-union company with one opening on the first shift. The shift runs from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. There is minimal overtime, approximately 3 hours a week. The role requires working one Friday a month, typically the last Friday of the month.
