Resource Special Education Teacher (Elem/Middle/High) - Near Lake Villa, IL
School District Location: Antioch, IL
Position Type: Full-Time, Contract Job
Hours: 32.5/ week

Position Overview: ProCare Therapy is on the lookout for a dedicated Special Education Instructor to join our passionate team at our school district in Illinois. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with students across a range of abilities and will be focused on creating engaging, personalized learning experiences. This role involves working closely with general education staff, families, and support personnel to ensure each student receives tailored educational opportunities. You will work with elementary, middle or high school students in a resource classroom setting.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to cater to each students unique needs.
  • Modify and adapt instructional methods and materials to support various learning preferences.
  • Provide both direct support and instructional assistance to students with disabilities in inclusive and specialized settings.
  • Collaborate with families, educators, and related service providers to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to IEPs.
  • Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and self-advocacy.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about the latest trends and strategies in special education.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field; a Masters degree is a plus.
  • Valid IL Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience in a classroom setting with students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to promoting an inclusive and respectful educational setting.
