Responsibilities:
- Manage a classroom of approximately 8-10 secondary level students, including supervision of instructional assistants and support staff.
- Develop and implement curriculum tailored to individual student needs within a self-contained classroom.
- Deliver instruction at various educational levels to support academic and vocational success.
- Collaborate with therapists and educational personnel on behavior programs and IEP conferences.
- Maintain detailed documentation including student progress reports, grade reports, and compliance with safety and confidentiality policies.
- Participate actively in team meetings and adhere to policies on reporting and confidentiality.
Requirements:
- Bachelorâ?s Degree in Special EducationÂ
- Willingness to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License with Learning Behavioral Specialist (LBS1) endorsement.
- Valid Illinois driverâ?s license..
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of IEP planning, service delivery, and crisis intervention.
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the role, including providing physical restraint if necessary.
Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary of $75,000Â commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that supports your well-being and professional development.
