Job Description

Hiring a QC Technician for a local manufacturing facility in Oakland, CA. The position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with occasional overtime as required.

Responsibilities
  • Perform testing and analysis on all production lines to ensure products meet specifications, company policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in monthly food safety audits and conduct food safety meetings with plant operation and warehouse teams.
  • Oversee and maintain the Food Safety Program.
  • Participate in plant audit inspections including SQF, QAI, FDA, Kosher, and State inspections.
  • Conduct coffee roasting for batch samples and prepare tastings (cuppings) to ensure the coffee meets its taste profile.
  • Conduct training sessions on various subjects for employees.
  • Maintain records related to the food safety program.
  • Ensure safety and sanitation standards are met through compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Assist in quality and food safety issues, providing corrective actions and root cause investigations.
  • Support the supplier quality program to ensure quality standards for purchased products and materials.
  • Prepare samples for in-house customer tastings and/or shipping to customers, and prepare QA-related documentation.
  • Lead responsibilities in the absence of the QA supervisor.

Work Environment

Work is conducted in an office setting with temperatures comparable to the outside ambient temperature. Food safety materials such as hairnets and gloves are required while handling products. Steel-toe shoes are not required. Initial training will be conducted with the Quality Assurance Supervisor. This role is ideal for someone with Quality Assurance experience within the coffee, chocolate, or food industries.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00
