Job Title: Surgery Scheduler
Location: Onsite - Austin, TX
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (Full time)

Contract Duration: 4 months with possibility of extension

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Surgery Scheduler to join our team located in Austin, TX In this role, you will provide essential clerical support to ensure patients receive the highest quality, efficient care. We are a close-knit team, passionate about patient care, and we’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented addition who shares our commitment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain CPT and ICD-10 codes and other required clinical information from practice staff to ensure accurate treatment details; collaborate with practice and Facility Coders as needed.

  • Prepare and manage documentation for Medicare Non-Covered Services and Advance Beneficiary notices, adhering to practice procedures.

  • Schedule surgeries by coordinating with the Facility to secure OR time and anesthesia coverage, ensuring streamlined daily schedules and necessary resources.

  • Verify and confirm all necessary documents, including medical records, imaging, equipment, and instruments, are in place for each procedure.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of scheduling packets and authorization paperwork.

  • Retrieve patient face sheets from Insurance Verification to obtain necessary authorizations and scan authorization notes into the medical record system.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • At least one year of experience in a medical office setting (ambulatory surgery center, hospital, or doctor’s office) is highly preferred.

  • Previous experience in Surgery Scheduling is required.

  • Familiarity with CPT coding, insurance verification, and prior authorization is preferred.

Desired Traits:

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to multi-task effectively.

  • General understanding of CPT coding/billing processes.

  • Experience with insurance verification and prior authorization.

Pay Details: $20.00 to $21.00 per hour
