Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Paraprofessional to join our school-based team in Portsmouth, RI. The RBT/Paraprofessional will work closely with students who have special needs, providing support in implementing behavior intervention plans and helping students achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or other qualified professional.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them develop social, academic, and behavioral skills.
  • Collect and document data on student behavior and progress, reporting findings to the supervising BCBA or teacher.
  • Support classroom teachers by reinforcing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and assisting with instructional activities.
  • Assist students with daily activities, including transitioning between tasks, participating in classroom activities, and developing independent living skills.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
  • Provide a safe and supportive environment for students, fostering their academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is required.

  • Strong munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a BCBA and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a mitment to helping students succeed.
