Special Education Teacher in Forest Park, IL

Employment Type: Full-Time, W2 Contract
Duration: As soon as possible - End of Spring 2025
Hourly Compensation: $35-40 per hour, based on experience

Caseload details will be provided upon pre-screening and official interview.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement customized Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to address the specific educational needs of each student.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate various learning styles and needs of diverse student populations.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment that supports all students.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and suggestions for continued development.
  • Provide targeted instruction in both small group settings and one-on-one sessions to achieve individualized learning objectives.
  • Apply behavior management strategies as necessary to promote a positive and conducive learning atmosphere.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Special Education Teaching License in Illinois.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required.
  • Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher is preferred.
  • Candidates with knowledge of a second language or American Sign Language (ASL) will be given special consideration.
